Same here. We have actually been getting a lot over the past week or so. My lawn mowing has definitely greatly increased. But previously it was so dry that I was starting to see where my septic tank field lines were running through the yard, which I don't think I had seen that through the 17 years I have lived in this house.

We were bone dry until about a week or so ago. We didn't have any rain at all for about six weeks. Since then, we've gotten a lot of rain at my house. We got about 2" in an hour yesterday afternoon around 3:00. I do wish we could get rain spread out over a day or two and not get the huge downpours we've been getting.

It looks like rain is in the forecast a good bit for the next week or two.

It's had the exact opposite effect on my lawn mowing.  Every time I have time to do it, it rains.  I haven't mowed since about June 30. Luckily, I have a zoysia lawn that doesn't grow extremely high, but it's going to be a strain on it when I finally get out there.  Maybe tonight.

The rain has had the effect you are describing. When it was dry was when I wasn't having to mow and I could see the path of the field lines. That's definitely not the case right now. I have Bermuda in the front, and it grows very thick, and it will start getting unmanageable if you let it go too long. My back yard, though, is even worse, as it has fescue (plus who knows what else). I cut my back yard on Monday, and here it is Thursday, already needing to be cut. It has rained every day this week. It is raining right now, in fact.
