since it became hard to watch them on a regular bases I'm more likely just to check the box score the next day. It'll be interesting to see if they do anything at the trade deadline. I don't think they will...MAYBE a small move or two. They're so close to the 3rd level penalty in the salary cap, that they likely can't do much.
One thing is for sure, they seem to be a snake-bit organization this year. Damn!! In addition, Olsen, Riley and several others haven't figured out if they remember how to hit. It's a bit of a shame too...injuries notwithstanding (recent especially), they had/have a chance to have the best 3 starters for a series they've had in a LOOOOONG time.
I'm glad I'm not AA for this season...I'd have a really hard time deciding if I'm a buyer or trying to rebuild my farm system. The farm system is probably the worst it's been in stocked talent for a while. Yet, the big league club still has some nice pieces you could build around. The problem (as I see it) is, that many of your studs (Riley, Albies, Olsen, Harris, others) are having such bad years, that their trade value is WAY down...(not saying you would trade them...but if you're gonna blow it up?).
I'd at least SHOP Acuna Jr. I know, I know, call me crazy...but, he should command some serious talent in return. I'm not saying you do it, but, at least see what you could get in return. Before Bubba or someone says this is the stupidest thing they've heard (hard if you listen to the news these days), I'll agree it's an "out there" thought.

Olsen just hit 3 HRs and 7 hits against the Mets but worth a bitch but not trading him
Harris has been out but not trading him
Albies was playing ok despite being out a 2nd time but not trading him
Riley needs to step it up though he had a good series and might be coming out of it but not trading him
We are the first WC team in
You should be bitching about Arcia and Duvall (who started the year with the team.
I think AA gets and outfielder/bat and possibly a reliever before tomorrow. Lopez's MRI might change that to a starter
Braves trade rumors

So we need at minimum a SS, OF, and a starting pitcher?

Don't need a starter unless Lopez is out for some time (MRI today). OF bat is foremost.
Nacho can play short once Utility/2B Merrifield can play the field from his hand injury. He's active but only available to pinch run right now but they may trade for Hoerner.

Well you were right....you got yourself before I could tell you how dumb it would be to shop the best player in baseball ....especially when he is on a club friendly contract.
Some years you get the injury bug. It's that simple.

HAHAHAHa!
So, I'll reply here for Mac and Toasty too. I wasn't advocating to trade ANY of those guys and I kind of thought it was obvious Duvall and ARcia suck. I was simply throwing out "what ifs". As my man Bub says here..."some years you get the injury bug" and that's probably the correct way to view this season.
I'll go on to say, none of these guys, including Acuna, were off to great starts BEFORE the recent injuries. Still, blowing it up isn't likely the right or best solution. I'm not sure I'd be upset to see a piece or two traded. There's not much heart on this team and it's been talked about for a while. Seems like a bunch of guys that show up for work. I'd love to see them bring in someone, like Joc, that adds a little fire.
Alas, back to the point, it's just likely not their year...accept it and move on.
At least I gave you turkey's something to talk about.

I did! And, I’d defer to you if we were managing the team together. ??

I would defer to 79. He logs more innings than anyone I know. By far.
