It was a great day in the Classic City. Practice was better than I expected. Kirby was miked up and talking the entire time. Branson Robinson looked like a full grown man. Etienne was quick and fast. Rod Rob looks to be ready. . Puglisi has a gun. MW13 stood out. Thorson is a big boy. Those are some of the things that stood out.

I was there yesterday too, with my family.

Kirby works really hard.  I don't know how he stands in the middle of 5-6 different groups and sees what is good and bad about every drill to call players out.  I found the high pace to be really good.  It was interesting when he said that the fastest team in the country takes 9 seconds between snaps.  2's and 3's got the ball off closer to 9 seconds than the 1s.  Brinson was limited.  He got yelled at for just standing on the sideline.  Kirby told him they needed him out there coaching and learning.  A couple of guys were sleepwalking through their drills and he let them know about it.  First team offense looks really good.  Not a lot of off target passes or drops, even with the 2s and 3s.  RBs looked really strong and good.  Gunner Stockton might be the best backup we've had in a long time.  He could start.  Everette still looks the same, lost at times, so I worry that he's going to give up some big plays.  Stackhouse and Bolden got called out a lot for not being in the right spot or going hard.  DL looked good, but they were fighting that heat.  It was really hot out there.  Not sure how they do it.

They started at about 2:15.  We left at 4 and they were still going hard.  Looked like storms were coming in at 4:30 or 5.

One other item to note… the crowd seemed like it was made up of the entire Dawgvent - a lot of older white guys, a few had their wives and a few had their families.

And oh yeah, Arian Smith dropped another wide open pass. Then saw him on the sideline practicing one of Bobo’s favorite offensive plays…the infamous jet sweep. I hope I’m not revealing and secrets from practice.

Was there a lot of work on the delay draw?  That is a Bobo staple as well, especially in third and long situations.  What about naked WR screens?
