I know Toasty and maybe a couple others on here (our LSU friend) Crossfit
Not sure if you saw but a competitor died today in the first event of the Crossfit Games. The event was a run + swim event; unfortunately, one of the guys (Lazar Đukić) cramped and ended up drowning
I can't believe how awful that would be for his family/loved ones. His brother was also in the event and from my understanding his fiance was in the crowd
Just terrible terrible news

There were two monitors within several yards of him. I’ll look for the clip/pic.

There is a triathlon here every September. There have been several deaths during the event over the years. My cousin's husband died running in a half marathon in 2007, age 43 and in great physical shape. After he died, while talking to some people who were into marathons and iron man competitions, I found out deaths in such events are not uncommon at all.

I have "participated" in 3 Ironmen. Got pulled on the second leg of the bike for time. Last one I did was Louisville, KY. 3 people died.

Some exercise is good, but just as with booze, you can easily overdo it.
