Most weeks ranked #1 in AP Poll.....

Had an SEC and school record streak of 24 consecutive weeks at No. 1 in the Associated Press rankings (10/9/22 to 11/26/23), which ranked second all-time in the CFP era.

This is a list of college football teams by the number of weeks they have been ranked number one in the AP poll since its inception in 1936 through August 12, 2024.

We are also #9 in all time wins by current BCS division teams, and the unquestionable premier team of the last 5 years.

Notre Dame got so many of those weeks at #1 back in the 40s and 50s when all they really had to do was look good and be undefeated.  I give Nebraska full and proper credit for their weeks at #1 even though they have fallen on hard times recently.  I would say a decade ago Auburn was our peer.  What a different a Smart man can make.
