Wont go back.  Saw the new twisters movie.  Mediocre at best. I still sit in the movie constantly thinking, when will this be over so i can move on to something else. Purposely got an aisle seat so that i wouldn’t have to sit by some commoner.  Me and wife were the only two on our row til matilda walked in and decided to sit right next to my wife with the whole row open. Her husband sits behind her. He is up and down the whole time showing his obese wife whatever was on his cell phone.  The place has those nice leather recliners and that’s just weird sitting in a room with a bunch of strangers. People with shoes off i don’t take mine off afraid someone would steal my Jordan’s.  people in pajamas people with blankets.  The big lady next to my wife recliner and lays on her side facing my wife then she sits straight up leaning forward with her her face propped on her hands wife couldn’t see half the screen because of the ladies big head in the way. I didn’t like reclining and putting my head back i couldnt help but wonder who sat in this chair before me with they greasy  head.  When you are reclined like that you are not in the best position if something goes down and you have to jump up and defend yourself or you old lady. Besides the fact of having to sit still and be quiet for two hours. It’s just strange sitting in the dark in s room full of strangers and people are idiots and do not know how to act in public most are ugly sloppy and unkept and should just stay at home.

I concur with many people being to immature to behave in a theater.

Captain America was the last movie I saw in the theater and have no desire to go back.

A group of us from our church went to see a movie together a couple of years ago. I think that was the first time in 5-10 years since I had been. The time before that was to see another Christian-themed movie... Monumental... which is actually a documentary, and a very good one.  Inflation went wild in movie theaters many years ago. Now you have to reserve specific seats. They have recliners, now, and you can actually lean back in them. I'm afraid I might fall asleep in there.

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

1 Timothy 2:5-6

For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the witness for this proper time.

Acts 4:12

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Yep!!

Movie theaters have been on a death spiral since the late 70's. Some folks just down right suck and you see it on full display in movie theaters.

Had a HS buddy that was an usher at 1 in Augusta back in my HS days. Called me early 1 Saturday morning to help him clean the theater he worked at on the weekend. He was my wing man and I was going to help. They had a midnight double feature that Friday showing a couple of those 70's blaxploitation movies. Damn place was a wreck. Greasy Church's Chicken boxes, chicken wing bones, cole slaw and all sorts of food chit smeared everywhere.

Then you get to the aisles the malt liquor bottles, human excrement and all other ungodly chit everywhere. Place smelled like grease, jeri curl, and human funk combined with stale popcorn.

Can't imagine what the hell goes on in movie theaters now.

No thanks! Agree with everything Smokin said. Haven’t been to one in 10 years and not planning on it anytime soon.

It was all I could do to put up with the people at the high school game last night.

I used to be a theater manager…at Regency Mall in Augusta. Got lots of stories.
Anyway, I love seeing a movie in the theater…beats the crap outta watching one in your living room with all the distractions!
As far as those big, comfy, reclining seats….MAKE SURE you bring a few of those sanitary wipes to clean them off, because the theater people NEVER do it! So, yeah, they are disgustingly filthy.
I kind of like being able to pick my seats, because we rarely have anyone sit beside us…we always pick the seats in the upper corner. Doesn’t have to do with anything except obnoxious customers…I once had a guy in the row in front of us, over to the right, pull out his damn phone every 10 minutes or so, light it up, and check his mail/messages….throughout the whole movie. When we all got up to leave, he was right in front of me, and I tapped him on the shoulder and said “4,6,9,8”. He said “Huh?”. I said “That’s the phone’s password. I saw you enter it like 20 times. You may want to change it.”

I love watching a movie in a theater. That said, I haven't been in one in probably 10 years because they are open to the "public" and the "public" shows up. People in general suck and are one step above animals. Combine having to deal with all the rude, inconsiederate, nasty people with how crappy movies are these days and going to a movie has pretty much zero appeal to me.

(08-17-2024, 05:30 PM)Replying to Because I’ve seen so many movies while working at the theater, I’m pretty picky about the movies I go see.  Very critical of remakes and sequels.  I also steer away from copycat plots that aren’t exactly remakes, but are still very predictable.  A huge red flag is also when a movie has WAY TOO MUCH HYPE and accolades from critics!  I say all that to admit that the great majority of movies nowadays are awful and not worth it.  So now we go once in 4-6 months.JC-DAWG83
