All this Stadium reconstruction for 287 more seats?
#1
93,033. Still 6th in SEC. Actually these extra 287 seats are probably big spenders. Gets the Media over there by their trucks. How do we get it over 100,000? Triple decking the East Campus Road side would surely block off traffic for that road. Sky Boxing it all would probably be better for revenue. We need 6,967 more seats to reach 100,000. We'd still be 6th in SEC.

Texas Darrell K Royal Memorial Stadium 100,119
Alabama's Bryant-Denny Stadium, 101,821
LSU's Tiger Stadium (Death Valley), 102,321
Tennessee's Neyland Stadium, 102,455
Texas A&M's Kyle Field (12th Man), 102,733

We need 9,700 seats to be First. I fear that would be fleeting, someone would enlarge to retain bragging status.

Looks like we are 9th in America with our old capacity. We need 14,568 seats to beat Michigan.

We are bigger than the Rose Bowl by God.

Bigger doesn't always mean better. The game day experience has gone down for me over the years. We haven't been to any SEC game since 2019. If we go now, it would only be to an away game.

Probably ain't going to need them. Attendance will wane as they put this weaker college football product on the field. Younger generation isn't as big of a fan of college football as it is.

I say go the other way. Remove the tech deck and bring capacity back down into the 86K range. I still think 82,122 Sanford was the best Sanford.

You got that right. A bigger stadium won't save how they are pricing out loyal fans. It won't be long and you will have to be a 3 income family to afford all the amenities AND tickets.

Reading that Wikipedia page.....

The Rose Bowl's maximum stated seating capacity was 104,091 from 1972 to 1997. Some of the seats closest to the field were never used during this time for UCLA regular season games, and were covered by tarps. Official capacity was lowered following the 1998 Rose Bowl. Slightly different figures are given for the current capacity because the lower-level seats behind the team benches are not used for some events since the spectators can not see through the standing players or others on the field.
