*Dalton at Northwest Whitfield, 7:30 p.m., WFLI-TV (Chattanooga)
*Gilmer at Pickens, 7:30 p.m., ETC 3 (Ellijay)
*Rome at Carrollton, 7:30 p.m., GPB
*South Aiken, S.C. at Lakeside (Evans), 7:30 p.m., WJBF MeTV 6.2 (Augusta)
*Gainesville at Westlake, 8 p.m., Peachtree Sports Network
I take particular notice of that Rome at Carrollton game. That should be a barn-burner. I will add, though, Rome has not played a game yet this season. They canceled their opening game because of the bus accident driving home after a scrimmage at Rockmart. Then, last week was an off-week for them. So, they haven't faced anyone in three weeks, not even a scrimmage. They haven't played a true game yet this season. This will be a heck of an opponent to open up with.. and at their place, and Carrollton has already played two games, against one very good opponent (Woodward Academy, ranked #3 in 5A, Carrollton winning 24-14), and a sorta decent AA opponent, Columbia, Carrollton winning 35-7.
