The No. 28-ranked Georgia women's golf shot 7-over 291 in Tuesday's final round of the Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall Club. The Bulldogs finished eighth on the team leaderboard at 15-over 867. Sophomores Emma Falcher and Celine Brovold Sanne were Georgia's top individual finishers, tying for 23rd on the leaderboard at 2-over 1-over 215. The Bulldogs finished two strokes back of a four-way tie for fourth place between Miami (Fla.), Boston College, Florida and SMU.

Back in April, when Georgia announced that its next gymnastics head coach was actually two coaches, Cécile Canqueteau-Landi and Ryan Roberts, only one of them, Roberts, who had been on former coach Courtney Kupets Carter's staff, would be on the job right away. For the time being, Canqueteau-Landi had responsibilities elsewhere — namely prepping for and coaching at the Paris Olympics as the U.S. women's national team head coach and, with her husband Laurent, the personal coach of superstars Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles. Now, with the Summer Olympics over and Team USA having secured the gold medal (Biles won two individual golds and a silver), Canqueteau-Landi is now prepping for her first season as a collegiate coach.

A total of more than 40 former Bulldogs took part in NFL games over the weekend, including one contest that featured nine defenders who wore the Georgia G not too long ago. Quay Walker and Javon Bullard led the Green Bay defense in week one with 11 total tackles each, while Travon Walker (Jacksonville) picked up where he left off in 2023 with a two-sack performance against Miami. In addition to the defensive dominance displayed by former Bulldogs, quarterback Matthew Stafford (L.A. Rams) continued to move up the opening weekend record books with his 317-yard passing performance against Detroit.
