The Georgia cross country teams are set to compete at the Southern Showcase, hosted by Jacksonville State, on Friday morning. The meet will mark the second of three regular season meets for the Bulldogs, who opened the 2024 campaign two weeks ago at the Stan Sims Cross Country Opener. Friday morning's action will kick off with the men's 8k race at 10 a.m. ET. The women's 5k will follow an hour later at 11 a.m. with both races taking place at John Hunt Cross Country Park in Huntsville, Ala. The Bulldogs will join a large field of competitors at Friday's meet, which will feature 55 teams on the women's side and 52 in the men's race. Georgia will be joined by a number of Southeastern Conference foes, including the No. 9 Alabama, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt men's teams and the No. 12 Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt women's squads. Georgia opened the 2024 campaign at the Stan Sims Cross Country Opener on Aug. 30 with both teams finishing second. The Bulldogs will have a month off from competition before taking the course at Alabama's Crimson Classic on Oct. 18. That meet will mark the final regular season meet before the SEC Championships, which are slated for Nov. 1 in College Station, Texas. Following the SEC Championships, the Bulldogs will head to Tallahassee, Fla., for the NCAA South Regional on Nov. 15. Those who qualify will continue their season at the NCAA Championships on Nov. 23 in Madison, Wis.

Georgia volleyball will open its home schedule this weekend hosting the Classic City Clash at Stegeman Coliseum. The Bulldogs will welcome Boston College, Jacksonville, and Utah Valley in the six-match round robin tournament. Georgia opens action Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. taking on Boston College. Saturday's action begins at 10:30 a.m. between the Bulldogs and Jacksonville. The Classic City Clash concludes Saturday when Georgia plays Utah Valley at 7:30 p.m.

The Georgia women's tennis team concluded its first day of competition at the Battle in the Bay Classic, posting two singles wins and one doubles victory on Thursday at the California Tennis Club. #13 Anastasiia Lopata picked up right where she left off last season, opening her 2024 fall tennis account with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 victory over Gracie Epps (Oklahoma State) in the women's singles round of 32.
[*]Sofia Rojas also shined in the afternoon window of competition, marking her Georgia singles debut with a three-set 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 victory over Maia Sung (USC) in the women's singles round of 32. The newly formed doubles pairing of Lopata and Rojas made their season debut, stamping the day with an 8-4 win against Aya El Sayed and Mila Stanojevic (Colorado) in the women's doubles round of 16. Georgia will continue out west for day two at the Battle in the Bay Classic while five Bulldogs make their season debuts at the Debbie Southern Furman Fall Classic on Friday, Sept. 13 at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C.

Two goals inside the first 25 minutes of the first half propelled the University of Georgia soccer team (3-2-2) to a 2-0 victory over Samford (2-5-1) before 750 spectators at the Turner Soccer Complex on Thursday. Graduate forward Tori Penn netted the match's opening goal in the 12th minute, marking her second of the season. Graduate forward Margie Detrizio scored a goal in back-to-back matches for the Bulldogs, tallying a 22nd-minute goal to extend the lead and raise her team-best total to five this season. Detrizio also picked up her first assist of the season on Penn's goal. Graduate midfielder Nicole Vernis stamped the stat sheet with her team-leading third assist of the season. Junior goalkeeper Jordan Brown tallied her 16th-career solo shutout, fielding six saves on the night. The Bulldogs will remain in Athens for the third of their four-match homestand when they face Washington State on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. ET.

Good morning, Dawg brothers and sisters! Today is yet another gift from God!
John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

1 Timothy 2:5-6

For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the witness for this proper time.

Acts 4:12

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
