I just read that part of the renovation includes installing artificial turf in the whole field. That really kind of sucks. Turf baseball fields aren't appealing.
Also, the team is practicing at Athens Academy and thinks they will be back in Foley in December, with everything being ready for the season start by February.
They've got some work to do...

If artificial, they will save a lot of time re-doing the sprinklers

Apparently the decision was made at the request of wes johnson.
They want to be able to turn practice around and have camps and other events and they are doing it for efficiency.

They're still just dumping money into it. They are making upgrades to lighting and audio for the 2025-2026 season. They are also adding a premium seating area and they announced a new video board to take over that west wall, but that's been pushed to "phase II" along with the premium seating area.
They've actually done a lot to improve that building over the last handful of years. Hopefully the ceiling holds up.
