The Bulldogs carded their third-best relation-to-par round in school history in the tournament's second 18 holes, shooting 12-under as all four counting golfers posted par-or-better rounds.The Bulldogs opened the day near the bottom of the leaderboard, shooting 8-over to conclude the first round in 13th place. Georgia then shot up the leaderboard in the second round, posting 23 birdies and one eagle to post a 12-under round, the third-lowest relation-to-par round in Georgia history. The Bulldogs now sit in seventh place at 4-under with 18 holes left to play on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will wrap up the Illini Invitational with the tournament's third and final round on Tuesday. Play is set to resume with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. EDT.
Sofia Rojas advanced to the second round of qualifying at the ITF W75 Edmond after a first round victory in the women's singles tennis bracket at the Edmond Centre Court on Monday. She made a statement in her first match in Edmond, Oklahoma setting the tone early in the first set before taking control of the match in a 6-2, 6-1 win over Emma Lella to advance to the qualifying second round. Dasha Vidmanova will return to action for her first match in the competition after coming off a bye, as she will face Christina Rosca for a spot in the singles main draw.
The kickoff for Georgia's October 19 matchup at Texas in Austin will be at 7:30 p.m. ET and televised by ABC, according to a Southeastern Conference announcement Monday. This will mark the fifth time the Bulldogs will play on ABC this season. Georgia has already downed No. 14 Clemson, Kentucky and Auburn on the channel this year. Overall, the Bulldogs have a record of 54-28-2.
