The ruling just came down a little while ago. The new interpretation states that after the two-minute timeout in either half, if the defense commits a substitution foul with 12 or more players on the field, officials will penalize the defense and, at the option of the offended team, reset the game clock to the time displayed at the snap.

Fix a tiny problem while ignoring the big problem of fake injuries.

Yep. They probably don't know how to deal with that. This was an easy fix.
The problem with the fake injuries is that you can't prove intent. Flopping is terrible for all sports, but maybe it's just part of the game now.

The easiest fix is to insure player safety, is that any player going down with an injury, real or fake, must sit out the rest of the series, or if in the final 3 minutes of half or game, the remainder of that half.

One way to address fake injuries is to address the extreme hurry up offenses that lead to them. There can be a minimum amount of time between the end of one play and the snap for the next play, say 15 seconds. Snapping sooner would be delay of game.

Players get the breath knocked out of them etc..seems unfair to make them sit out multiple plays when they are fine after a play or two..I still say no easy fair fix..

Right. If you are hurt enough to stop the game, you are out the rest of the quarter or series/multiple series

The only reason it was this quick is because that play may have negatively affected the bucknuts. The thumb is on the scale for them this year just like it was last year to get fbama in the playoff.

How about you have to sit out 2-3 plays? Kind of a compromise and you aren't gone for a series. Some of these floppers sit out one play and they're back.
Also, someone needs to tell the floppers don't grab their hammy!!! A hamstring doesn't get better in 45 seconds. Maybe swat around and fake a bee sting or something??

If the clock or play is stopped for an "injury", the injured player should have to sit out until after a change of possession, for the player's safety of course.

My thoughts exactly. Very easy fix.
