Well howdy again sports fans! We have plugged in the smart pill machine again to give you prognostications of epic proportions. As October comes to a close we have a little better understanding of contenders and pretenders. But you can be sure there are still plenty of upsets looming that will rear their heads before this year ends. Oregon reigns as the leader of the pack right now, but Kirby has his Junkyard Dogs nipping at the Ducks tailfeathers. Penn State and Indiana are trying to supplant Michigan and Ohio State in the Big 10. And the rest is just an amalgamation of asymmetrical associations. Perhaps this week will provide some much needed clarity.
Notre Dame vs Navy- Marcus Freeman and his band of Golden Domers travel to East Rutherford New Jersey to attack our Nations freedoms and the United States Navy. But unlike most years, these midshipmen have much clearer rules of engagement. Navy comes into this game undefeated and Notre Dame has already lost to Northern Illinois. A victory by Navy would be one of the largest since a fella named Staubach played there. And while Navy will try and torpedo the Irish and their playoff hopes, I just don’t think they have enough powder in their cannon. JDD's loser- Navy.
Texas vs Vanderbilt- After losing to a pack of rabid dogs last week, Texas must travel to Nashville and play a Vandy team that has more pop than usual. The Commodores have installed a netting in front of the visitor seats so that should a call go against Texas, the bottles they throw won’t reach the field. Vandy has QB with a swagger unlike any since Johnny Manziel. And he will likely scare the Longhorns repeatedly on Saturday. The talent gap here though seems to great to overcome. JDD'’s loser- Vandy.
LSU vs Texas A&M- Brian Kelly and the Bayou Bengals head to Kyle Field Saturday night. The Aggies seem like a much better team than the one that lost to Notre Dame. Since this isn’t the first game of the season, LSU will be hard to beat as well. In the pantheon of tailgate food, brisket probably beats pastalaya. But it depends on the day and the conditions. The same will be true for the football contest. JDD’s loser, in a close one- Texas A&M.
And now for a list of more losers this week.
North Carolina will lose to Virginia.
Georgia Tech will lose to Virgnia Tech.
Florida State will lose to Miami
Stanford will lose to Wake Forest
Oklahoma will lose to Ole Miss
Mississippi State will lose to Arkansas
Missouri will lose to Alabama
Auburn will lose to Kentucky
That is all the smart pill machine had to say this week. Until next time this is JDD Post Toasties saying don’t forget the Martha White Flour! Get me outta here Percy!
JDD will (maybe) be back next week with another bunch of losers.
