because of two plays that happened before and after the half.
Kirby has always been pretty conservative that close to the half inside our own 25. Even more puzzling is we dropped back with an inexperienced QB and ND had been getting pressure the entire 1st half. Run the ball there and go the half and fix things.
I do not know the last time we had a kickoff run back on us. Not sure if our kicker can't kick it in the endzone every time or not. I think he did the other few times he kicked.
Take away those two plays we win. Our defense only allowed 244 total yards.
I also think without those two plays and a different score we take a FG on that 4th down play. We win 16-9.
I will add, Bobo does suck most of the time though.
Also, the refs sucked

So you don’t think we could have done ANYTHING better with our play calling or which RB to use? Or throwing more slants? Or using a TE on the blindside or subbing out Freeling? OK.

Couldn't set the edge. Fumbles. Screen plays. Refs had nothing to do with it.

No, but I do think ALL refs I've seen this year have an entirely different idea of what constitutes holding.
Irks me no end to see DAWG defenders grabbed by the shoulder pad as they go past an OL
and see holding called like 1 out of 10 times.

Nope. Refs only affect outcomes when the losing team is playing like shit to begin with.
