BITD he used to do Braves games with Milo Hamliton and Ernie Johnson on WSB AM. My old man used to laugh his butt when he would talk about trying to catch Niekro's knuckleball.

He did the Braves radio broadcast for a few years after he retired as a player. He and Ernie were good together on air.

Damn , I was in elementary school . I loved the Bravos on the old AM radio. Feel pretty damn old thinking about this.

The biggest thrill a ballplayer can have is when your son takes after you. That happened when my Bobby was in his championship Little League game. He really showed me something. Struck out three times. Made an error that lost the game. Parents were throwing things at our car and swearing at us as we drove off. Gosh, I was proud.

Long life. I believe that maintaining the grace and humility it takes to laugh at one’s self contributes to that.
