Always thought the same thing. Why do they call it a ‘World Championship’ if it’s the only league in only one of 170 or so countries in the world?

And to complicate things Super Bowl 50 was 50 instead of the roman numerals.

I would wager that a sizeable percentage of NFL fans are not aware the "letters" after the words "Super Bowl" are actually numbers.

Was the idea of Chief's owner to differentiate the Super Bowl being played from the year it took place apparently. 

So instead of like College football where it's the "2022 National Champion"  It would be Super Bowl LIV (Or 54)
