ATHENS, Ga. — The Georgia women's basketball team fell in a hard-fought game to Ole Miss, 63-58, on Thursday evening at Stegeman Coliseum. De'Mauri Flournoy added 15 points in the loss, 10 of which came in the first half. Asia Avinger led the Lady Bulldogs with 19 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Mia Woolfolk scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds. The Lady Bulldogs matched their season-high three-point percentage, shooting 57.1% from beyond the arc. 26 of Georgia's 58 points came from the bench. Georgia will travel to Tuscaloosa on Sunday, Feb. 2., to take on No. 22 Alabama at Coleman Coliseum. Tipoff set for 3 p.m. ET.

BIRMINGHAM, Al. – Georgia sophomore linebacker CJ Allen will be the Bulldogs' representative at the Southeastern Conference's Football Leadership Council annual meeting at the SEC offices in Birmingham on Friday and Saturday. The Council consists of one football student-athlete from each of the SEC's 16 schools.
ATHENS, Ga. – The 2025 season will be the 29th of Georgia Softball in Athens and the fourth under the direction of head coach Tony Baldwin. The Bulldogs are ranked in all four preseason top 25 polls with several individual student-athletes being recognized on preseason player rankings and watch lists. Georgia will open the season ranked No. 12 in NFCA/GoRout Top 25 Coaches Poll and No. 14 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll. Georgia is ranked No. 15 in the D1Softball poll and No. 17 in the Softball America poll. Georgia was picked eighth in the 2025 SEC Softball Preseason Coaches' Poll. Conference play will start on Friday, March 7. The 2025 SEC Softball Tournament is scheduled for May 6-10 at Jack Turner Softball Stadium in Athens.
Senior left-handed pitcher Lilli Backes was named to the watch list for the 2025 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award. Dallis Goodnight landed No. 91 on Softball America's list.
Backes (No. 13 pitcher), along with graduate catcher Lyndi Rae Davis (No. 17 catcher), were ranked on D1Softball's position rankings. Georgia's roster boasts eight newcomers this season, including seven freshmen. Infielder Paislie Allen and utility Mua Williams appeared on both D1Softball's and Softball America's Freshman Watch Lists. Fellow rookies Tyah Charlton and Esther White landed a spot on D1Softball's D100 Freshman Watch List. The Bulldogs will open the 2025 campaign on Thursday, Feb. 6 at the Black & Gold Classic in Orlando, Florida. The Dogs will take on NC State at 1 p.m. in the season opener then host UCF that night at 6:30 p.m.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. --- The Georgia track & field program is set for its second indoor meet of the season this weekend, travelling to Fayetteville, Ark., to compete at the Razorback Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Arkansas-hosted meet will be held at the Randal Tyson Track Center and marks the second of five indoor regular season meets for the Bulldogs. Georgia is participating in the Razorback Invitational for the second-straight year while also returning to the site of the 2024 SEC Indoor Championship meet. Student-athletes from 13 different squads will take the track in Fayetteville, nine of which come from the Southeastern Conference. Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas join Georgia in representing the SEC while Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, and Utah round out the field. Jordan Fick and Maximus Tucker will open competition for the Bulldogs on Friday in the men's heptathlon, which is set to begin with the 60-meter dash at 12:45 p.m. ET. Nikolai van Huyssteen will kick off the field events with the pole vault at 3 p.m., while Kieley Gayle will take the track for the 800m at 7 p.m. On Saturday, action will begin on the track at 11:35 a.m. with the women's 60m qualifying round featuring Sanaa and Sole Frederick. The final three events of the heptathlon will commence with the 60m hurdles at noon, while a quartet of Bulldogs will compete in the women's triple jump starting at 3 p.m. A total of 35 Bulldogs men and women are set to compete at the Razorback Invitational.
GUADALAJARA, Mexico - Georgia women's golf arrived in Guadalajara, Mexico, ahead of the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara Country Club, which is set to take place on Friday and Saturday. The Collegiate Invitational is Georgia's first team competition of the spring and will open with 27 continuous holes of play on Friday. The teams will then re-pair based on the first day's results before completing the final 27 holes on Saturday. Georgia is one of 12 teams in a stacked field in Guadalajara that includes four squads ranked in the top 25 in the latest Clippd rankings. Virginia and Florida State enter the tournament as the top-ranked teams in the field, coming in at No. 11 and No. 12, respectively, while Big 12 opponents TCU and Houston hold rankings of No. 23 and No. 25. Other teams making the trip to Mexico include Colorado, Colorado State, Iowa, Maryland, NC State, SMU, and Washington. Chantal El Chaib and Morgan Smith each carded a 3-under 69 in the 18-hole tournament at the UGA Golf Course at the Lady Bulldog Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 25. Celine Brovold Sanne also finished in the top 10 with an even-par 72, which was good for ninth place. In Georgia's return to team play, El Chaib will lead off the Bulldogs' lineup in the first position while Smith occupies the second spot. Kate Song, who tied for 16th at the Lady Bulldog Invitational, will take the third position while Brovold Sanne sits in the fourth spot. Grace Frei, who also tied for 16th in Athens, occupies the fifth and final spot in the lineup. Georgia will be paired with TCU and Colorado on Friday, with Frei teeing off first for the Bulldogs at 11:15 a.m.
