Large Mouth Bass or Trout, Georgia is Nature's Favorite State.
My favorite memories with pop was all night catching all those crappie at the fishing hole at West Point and by the sea shore Speckled trout in the bays and salt water catfish in the surf. .

I went yesterday. Water is still very cold, 50-51 degrees, but it was a beautiful day on the lake. Caught one nice striper, about 4 or 5 pounds. I released him, I'm not mad at the fish, I just want to catch them.
When the surface temp gets above 55 degrees fishing should improve.

Caught one decent largemouth about 3 lbs on a rocky point. I looked for shad on the points but all I found were still deep. Too bad you’re on the other side of the state, I go by myself mostly. Texted with old Lurk yesterday, said was go with me in the spring. We used to go to Clark Hill a lot back when. Camp out at Misletoe back when the only amenities was a pump well and launching ramp. Some great fishing. That where you fish?

That is the closest point to my house. I fish the area around Bussey Point and where Keg Creek comes into to the Savannah River. All of the bait I saw on the screen were deep, like 60 feet deep. I generally troll unless I see fish on the surface and I will cast to them. I troll 2 or 3 lines with lures running anywhere from 6' to 18-20' deep. The fish yesterday hit the shallowest lure. |
