ATLANTA, Ga. –  A pair of home runs and another impressive performance by the bullpen led sixth-ranked Georgia to its sixth straight victory Wednesday, beating Georgia State 7-3 at the GSU Baseball Complex. Georgia (9-1) fell behind 3-0 and had one hit through five innings before tying the game in the sixth aided by a two-run home run by junior Slate Alford. Alford extended his hitting streak to six games with his second home run of the season as it went 403 feet with an exit velocity of 104 MPH. Sophomore Tre Phelps smashed his second home run in as many games, launching a two-out, two-run shot as part of a four-run outburst in the seventh for a 7-3 advantage. It went an estimated 374 feet at 101 MPH. Georgia begins a 13-game stretch at Foley Field Friday when it welcomes Florida Gulf Coast (4-3) to town. A four-game series with the Eagles starts Friday at 3 p.m.

CLEMSON, S.C. – The 10th-ranked Georgia softball team suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday, falling to the Clemson Tigers, 5-3, in Georgia's first midweek game. Georgia returns home to host the 16th Annual Bulldog Classic at Jack Turner Stadium. The Bulldogs will host Stetson, UMBC, and Ohio State in the three-day, 10-game round-robin tournament. 

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas --- The Georgia track & field teams are set to open postseason competition on Thursday-Saturday when they compete at the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships, hosted by Texas A&M, at the Fasken Indoor Track & Field Facility. Ella Rush will open the meet in the pentathlon's 60-meter hurdles at 12:30 p.m. ET while Jordan Fick and Maximus Tucker will run the 60-meter dash at 12:45 to kick off the heptathlon. Georgia's field events will begin at 5 p.m. as Alon Rogow and Nikolai van Huyssteen compete in the men's pole vault. Brody Buffington and Jehlani Gordon are set to open Georgia's action on the track in the 200m prelims at 6 p.m. Georgia Women are #7 Men are unranked.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. --- Former Georgia track and field NCAA champions Kyle Garland and Elija Godwin each medaled at the USATF Indoor Championships in Staten Island, N.Y., over the weekend. Garland, a native of Philadelphia, Pa., tallied a 128-point victory in the heptathlon over Hakim McMorris following the seven events over two days.  Garland won the long and high jumps as well as the shot put.  He is now slated to now represent Team USA at the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China, on March 21-23. Godwin, a native of Covington, Ga., collected a bronze medal in the 400-meter dash final out of lane one with a 46.09.  Godwin clocked a 45.75 in the qualifying round at the meet after speeding to a season best of 45.56 earlier this year at Clemson, which is currently the world's 13th-best time in 2025.

ATHENS, Ga. - Georgia women's basketball returns to Stegeman Coliseum this Thursday to take on the Auburn Tigers at 6 p.m. ET. This marks Georgia's last home game of the season. The Lady Bulldogs will honor three seniors -- Asia Avinger, De'Mauri Flournoy and Roxane Makolo -- during a postgame ceremony.
