The donor is an aunt on the other side of her family.
Sandy's surgery to take a kidney began at 7:30 am this morning.
The kidney will be flown to Athens at Piedmont Hospital where Addie's surgery to receive the kidney will take place.
This has been a 4 year process of treatment of an immune system disease including the last 2 years on dialysis to get to this point.
After an extended hospital stay, she will have to stay at home with no visitors except immediate family for about 4 months to cut down risk of infection.
Praying little Adeline will get to have a normal life after this.

As of Noon , Sandy was in recovery at Emory Hospital in Atlanta.
Addie was 2 hours into her surgery at Piedmont in Athens and doing well according to the nurse bringing reports to the family.

Father, please hold little Addie in your strong hands. Guide all those that are working to save, heal, and protect your child Addie. In the precious name of Jesus, whose blood saves us all, I pray.

Addie came through the surgery great and is now in ICU.
Surgeons are talking to her parents now.
Her Grandad Mark is sending me updates!

Just got on and saw this. Praise to the Father for successful surgery, now prayers sent for successful recovery and health restored! My 8 y. o. Granddaughter has a friend who had a liver transplant 2 years ago at 6 & she is doing very well…kids can bounce back faster than us fossils!
