JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- Six Bulldogs punched their tickets to the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Thursday, highlighted by top-six performances by three women's javelin throwers at the NCAA East Regional. Additionally the Bulldogs clocked seven advancing times on the track to set up strong qualifying opportunities for Saturday. Stephanie Ratcliffe placed second in the hammer throw to open the day on Thursday. Nikolai van Huyssteen cleared the pole vault on his second attempt, taking second place and advancing to Eugene. Alex Kolesnikoff booked his trip to Nationals in the shot put, placing 11th to qualify for the Oregon-hosted meet. Three Bulldogs placed in the top six of the women's javelin to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene. Manuela Rotundo led the way in third place. Lianna Davidson finished fifth. Erin McMeniman opened her competition to place sixth. Kaila Jackson and Reign Redmond both qualified for the 100m quarterfinals, placing third and 18th in the first round, respectively, to advance to the next round. Dejanea Oakley and Aaliyah Butler clocked the two fastest times in the 400m first round, to advance to Saturday's quarterfinals. Michelle Smith won her heat in the 400m hurdles, running the No. 2 time overall to advance to Saturday's quarterfinal round. The Bulldogs concluded the day with two sprinters advancing in the 200m. Kaila Jackson posted eighth place in the first round while Sanaa Frederick finished 14th. Kelsie Murrell-Ross will lead off the day for the Bulldogs in the women's shot put at 10 a.m. on Friday after the event was postponed due to rain on Thursday. The Bulldog men will conclude competition at the NCAA East Regional on Friday with Ian Hodge, Eddie Kurjak, and Riyon Rankin opening Georgia's field events in the high jump at 2:30 p.m. The men's 4x100-meter relay team will kick off the running events at 5 p.m.
MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. --- A similar game time as well as the networks for five of Georgia's upcoming 2025 regular season football games have been released, according to an announcement from the Southeastern Conference Thursday. The Bulldogs' season opener on Aug. 30 in Athens versus Marshall on Dooley Field in Sanford Stadium will be at 3:30 p.m. and televised by ESPN. Georgia will play host to Austin Peay on Sept. 6 and that contest will be at 3:30 and streamed on ESPN+/SECN+. The next week on Sept. 13, the Bulldogs will play their SEC opener at Tennessee and ABC will televise the matchup at 3:30 p.m. The Bulldogs have won eight straight games over the Volunteers, including the last four in Knoxville, Tenn.
The traditional showdown between Georgia and Florida in Jacksonville, Fla., on Nov. 1 will again be at 3:30 p.m. and featured on ABC. Georgia is 7-1 versus the Gators since 2017 after besting UF 34-20 in 2024. The Bulldogs will conclude the regular season against Georgia Tech on Friday, Nov. 28. The matchup will be played in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta at 3:30 p.m. and ABC will also televise this battle. The Bulldogs' seventh consecutive victory over the Yellow Jackets came last year during an eight-overtime win in Athens.
ATHENS, Ga.-----The number seven national seed Georgia Bulldogs men's baseball open their 2025 NCAA Regional with Binghamton Friday at 12:06 p.m. at Foley Field. The game will be televised on the SEC Network and available on the Georgia Bulldog Sports Network. The Bulldogs (42-15), now in their second season under head baseball coach Wes Johnson, face the Bearcats (29-24) who captured their sixth America East title last week. Also at Foley Field Friday, Duke (37-19) will battle Oklahoma State (28-23) at 6:06 p.m. The double-elimination format continues Saturday at 12:06 p.m. with the losers of Friday's action meeting in an elimination game. The Friday winners square off on Saturday at 6:06 p.m. Game times for Sunday are 12:06 p.m. and 6:06 p.m. with Monday's contest, if necessary, TBA. Georgia is 55-36 all-time in the NCAA Tournament including 36-20 in NCAA Regionals. Georgia has won seven regionals, four super regionals and made six trips to the CWS.
ATHENS, Ga. – University of Central Florida transfer Santiago Giamichelle and Ohio State University transfer Will Jansen have signed with the Bulldogs men's tennis for the 2025-26 season, head coach Jamie Hunt announced on Thursday afternoon. Giamichelle, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, arrives in Athens after spending the last two season with the University of Central Florida. As a sophomore, Giamichelle was crowned doubles champion of the ITA Southeast Regional Championship. He holds a career-high doubles ranking of No. 20 and defeated the No. 13-ranked duo of Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc and Joshua Dous-Karpenschif (Florida State) in the second round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament. Jansen, a native of London, England, steps on to campus as a rising senior with one year of experience with the Buckeyes after spending his first two collegiates seasons at the University of North Carolina. The London native has been ranked as high as No. 35 in the ITA singles rankings and No. 23 in the ITA doubles rankings. Giamichelle and Jansen are the latest transfers in the Bulldogs 2025-25 class joining California transfer Derrick Chen and incoming freshman Gus Almeida and Noah Johnston.
