Quick Update...
#1
Update:  Had the stem cell transplant on 3/12/25 and one final dose of chemo.  Not sure if it was the chemo or the new DNA fighting the old…probably both, but Lawd Lawd it about killed me.  There was a time when I didn’t (couldn’t) eat for two weeks.  Everyone is in your face “You’ve GOT to eat!”.  Just the mention of eating would make me puke.  Finally got to the point where I could maybe hold down an Ensure, a few sips at a time.  Don’t care if I ever see another Ensure again, but it got me through some rough times.
But low-and-behold, I made it this far…70 lbs. lighter… but made it.  Had my three-month bone marrow biopsy last week and it shows that I am in complete remission!  No more living in Little Rock.  We finally get to go home for a few weeks.  Sitting on the back deck and watching the lake go by, or taking a boat ride is the best medicine I can get right now.
I have to go back for another biopsy at the 6th month mark, and the one-year mark.  They don’t toss around “Cured” until five years down the road, but nothing but great news so far.
I just want to sincerely thank everyone for your prayers and blessings.  I know it sounds weird, but through this lowest of lows, some of the biggest answers to prayers I have witnessed have taken place; not just with my situation, but things/people Deb and I have praying for for years.  I keep saying I’m going to write down all of the amazing things that have taken place throughout this whole ordeal.
Anyway, thank you all again.  I’m not out of the woods yet, but I can see the edge of the woods from here.  Peace out!
