I'm going to a conference in Toronto... The price for rooms is on their site in US Dollars but the confirmation is only shown in CAD, which is much higher.. Is this normal ?

Insider tip…go to the Brass Rail and hang out upstairs. And, take more toonies than loonies. Enjoy. You’re welcome.

CAD are worth less than USD so the exchange rate makes the number of CADs go up to equal the USDs.

So, if you're paying in USD shouldn't the price be lower ? They are wanting me to pay the CAD price in USD... doesn't make sense to me, however I am a little slow nowadays...

The current exchange rate is 1.38 CAD to the USD, so a $100 USD charge should be $138 CAD.  $100 CAD should be around $73 USD.

You may be able to change the monetary denomination to USD at the top of the page before you start a reservation.  If not, look at a different website.  If you pay in CAD, your credit card may charge you an exchange fee.  some cards waive it.

I talked to Mrs. Waddle's daughter after my mom died.  She said that their house is unchanged since they built the place.  They played a game over the holidays to guess how many family photos were on the walls, and the number was well over 1000.  Mrs. Waddle broker her hip after the first of the year, but refuses to move out.  There are stairs all over that house.  Mrs. McEver has never really disclosed her age to anyone, but she's 100.  She's basically blind these days.
