since 1948.  I knew our Bball program has historically sucked but that is pretty bad even for us.  That is 75 years.

in the 80s and 90s, we often had a really soft preseason schedule, playing directional schools for the blind and interior decorating schools.  Having  two season winning streak in football kind of puts that in perspective.

Only one year in the 90's but Jim Harrick was the master of RPI scheduling.  He'd pack the non conference schedule with middle of the pack big conference teams and beat most of them.   The RPI loved him.  Got us in the dance at 16-15 one year.

I was a student from '79-'83, the Dominique and Terry Fair years.  We were actually pretty good in Bball for a couple years there and some of the Tubby teams were pretty good as well.  Even with the pillow soft preseason schedules and fairly good teams, we never won 10 in a row.  That is gamecock football level bad.

For those that don't know, being terrible in Bball is nothing new for Georgia.  My dad was there from '57-'60 and he said they were terrible when he was there.  He told me the old basketball arena leaked so bad that if it rained the teams had to play around buckets put on the floor to catch water coming in.  He was on the baseball team and he said baseball wasn't much better.  He had been on big time winning programs his whole life until he got to Georgia and he couldn't believe how bad the team was.

Yes, I hope our new AD has things figured out.  Football will always be priority 1, but if we are going to field teams in other sports, there isn't any reason they shouldn't be nationally competitive teams give the huge resources we get from SEC money.  We have always excelled in the country club sports, and for that matter, in equestrian.  Or another way to look at it is we've been successful when we've hired coaches that were head and shoulders above the competition.
