Another day off, no tourist. Too cold, too rainy, and I talk too much...
1) The guide has been doing this tour for years. He told us he is still learning things. He tried to tell us all of them. He talked - and talked - and talked - and talked for hours. Five hours. He told us the trees were prettier when had leaves and flowers on them. He told us it’s 40c a minute to rent a scooter (told us they SIX times). He told us the purchase price of virtually every house we passed. Told us how much he paid for his house. Told us about his friend Toni who keeps chickens (twice…). Mate, stop talking. Say half as much, stick to the relevant, you will impart twice as much knowledge and there will still be a possibility of someone asking a question. JUST STOP THIS STREAM OF CONCISENESS THING. Example - in your drivel you said something about an exhibition relating to the slave trade. I was interested and would have wanted to know more, but you were STILL talking, now about how the plants with no flowers were prettier when the flowers were on them. I say again JUST STOP TALKING. The bus driver wears noise-reducing headphones so she does not have to listen to his drivel. But she gets paid to be there - I paid $75 for this verbal onslaught.
You listed every person who might be a z list celeb or better who ever lived in Atlanta. And I mean you had a list and read it out. Why? Who honestly cares if the aunt of one of the people who used to do Kristal Kardashian’s hair lived on the 7th floor here (and paid $175,000 for it)! Honestly, WHO CARES. If we had been closed to the city, I would have left the tour part way through. Rather than enhancing it, you spoilt it for me.

2) The tour was poorly organized and unprofessionally presented. Our tour guide was disheveled and rambled to the point of breathlessness. He repeated his rehearsed talking points multiple times without seeming to notice. Lots of eye rolls on the bus. At one point, we were lead on foot through a skate park to a path leading to a graffitied wall then back to the bus. An excess of extraneous rapid fire information diluted any pertinent content and caused the audience to tune out. Our ears were fatigued. Admittedly, we abandoned the tour after the lunch break, a unanimous vote. Reading many positive reviews before our booking made it appear to be a worthwhile experience. It was disappointing for our group on this day. Tip: Book yourself a tour of the beautiful and profound Martin Luther King Memorial and save yourself hours of tourist captivity. Audrey did a nice job as driver and greeter. Atlanta is an awesome city; find another way to enjoy it.

3) Wow, not even sure where to begin on this one. . I've been on plenty of bus sightseeing tours, and I've always really enjoyed them. The tour guides were always friendly, knowledgeable, engaging and easy to talk with. I had the exact opposite experience on my tour with this guide. When I met up with my guide, he was talking so loud and It was embarrassing. I hoped he was just talking loud because he thought he needed to be heard in a large place but it was really echoing off the walls. Nope! I was wrong. He talked that loud through the entire tour. I was thinking damn I should've brought earplugs, but who knew... . Anyway, he was very knowledgeable, but he talked so fast that it was hard to understand. He just continued to go from one subject to the next. It was rambling. I couldn't absorb much of what he said because he yelled it all so fast and he never paused or asked for questions. He didn't seem to be naturally comfortable with people. I will say he really loves Atlanta and he has an enormous amount of knowledge to share. I think he could just use a little more work on his presentation Good morning Top Row Dawg. Hope you have a great day.
