Bad ownership and only a couple of good coaches. Bennett and Reeves.
(01-23-2024, 05:01 PM)Replying to MilldawgRooney rule is still in effect and those 2 candidates have to be interviewed in person NOT on zoom or the like.(01-23-2024, 04:11 PM)Replying to DawgNatty for the number of coaches interviewed?? Their search, like most of the years of the franchise, has become a bit comical. (01-23-2024, 06:44 PM)Replying to ToccoaDog It’s the least I could do Indeed.

Just because folks became an expert and made a bunch of money in one thing, many think they are experts in all things. I see it all the time in land and timber management. A person will make a few million in medicine, electronics, banking, etc, and buy a large tract of land as hunting property/recreation. They will hire someone to take care of it, and after a couple of years of the person doing a great job keeping the place in great shape, the owner will decide they don’t need that person anymore because it can’t be that hard to maintain. Problem is that the owner doesn’t realize the time commitment, and doesn’t have the skills or knowledge to keep it at the same level as the professional land manager. Same thing with professional sports owners, they own it for a little while and think they can run it better than folks that have doing it all their lives.

Maybe sometimes people do what they want with what they own for reasons unknown to others.
