I guess he's tired of being a part of a winning team.

Someone said it here yesterday, so, I don't have to explain...Morris will be hard to fire when he needs to be in 3 years.

This franchise is an exercise in futility.

If it's true that Blank wants to win...and win now, he could have picked any number of coaches that gave you a better chance at that.   Did they even look at Morris' record??   He hasn't won anything.  You literally would have been better bringing back Dan Quinn purely from a head coaching record.

It's an amazing world you live in where a terrible record as a head coach can still get you hired.

NFL owners make so much money from tv and other revenue, ticket and concession sales are a bonus. I guess as long as a coach doesn't go 2-14 like the Panthers did and the fans quit coming to games, the owner really doesn't care much what the record is as long as it is good enough to keep people coming to the games.

The NFL sucks.

My question is how good is the roster? Media acts like they're going to pluck a starting QB off the QB tree and this team is in the playoffs. That makes no sense to me. The best player on D is hurt and that's Grady Jarrett. The defense absolutely collapsed at the end of the season and in some key games. The OL is highly graded by PFF, but what does that mean in an offense that didn't want to throw the ball. It can't be lost that the Falcons likely had the easiest schedule in the league and in the weakest division. Sell me that this is roster that can win a playoff game and that there's a sure-fire qb they can sign.

Is the roster in the top half of the league?

Pretty sure I could coach Matthew Stafford how to play quarterback and be his passing game coordinator

That's a legit question and I honestly don't know enough to give an educated answer.   I know it SEEMED like they had a better defense and could have won 3to 4 more games had they not had the turnover machine at QB.   But, I didn't watch an entire game all season....just bits and pieces.   It felt like I just tuned in to watch the collapse in the last few minutes most weeks.

My thought is, that they have a few decent players with very little depth...and zero depth at some positions.  Of course, I don't think the NFL has depth in general with 53-man rosters.

I still think they've made horrible draft picks...or, at least they haven't taken advantage of the ones they have.  Pitts was/is a stud that has somehow disappeared.  (thinking most of that is a lack of an NFL QB).

I will say, a good QB in the NFL can make a middle-of-the-road team look pretty good.  The Falcons haven't had anything that resembles that since Matt Ryan crossed over the hill.
