Defense is legit. I’ve been harping on it, but we have NFL depth that won’t play as much as they’d like, especially at ILB. We won’t have 3 first round DL this next draft, but I promise yall we will play ~8 DL this year that will be drafted (only one who might not be is Hall; let that sink in). Additionally, I’ve mentioned them recently and not trying to build them up too much but Sone and PJ Dean have been stacking practices as of late. Same mindset with Linton, trying to temper how much I bring them up as to not set too lofty expectations, but the buzz hasn’t softened. I think this will be a 40+ sack, ~15 INTs type defense. One cohesive unit that is going to give the offense two more possessions per game vs. last year.

Health is everything and Nate Frazier has been mentioned as looking better than he did last year. And…still, 3 different sources have said based on what they’ve seen, Chauncey Bowens is our best. The OL is the multiplier, I believe it’s the best we’ve ever had. All 5 starters will be drafted on Day 2 or better when their time comes. We avg. 4.4 yards per carry last year. I think we push 2019’s 4.9 yards per, and add another 500 on the ground, eclipsing 3000 yards on the ground for the first time since 2022. Elite defense + elite ground game= The UGA way. We’re back and I’m trusting we’re going to stay in character this year. Gotta be why guys aren’t getting as many reps this offseason. I think one of Frazier or Bowens goes for 1K+ and both will log 850+.

Nothing I say about Gunner is going to silence the doubters; hell, I’m guilty too and trust him to be what I believe he is. I’ll just share that he’s at least practicing with a lot of confidence and what was shared yesterday, strong chemistry with Taylor & White-Helton. Canion and Humphreys we know will be value adds and if you’re paying attention, Roldan and Blackshear both keep being brought up. Dandridge ain’t been the same since getting rocked by Kyron Jones, but he will push through this freshman wall he’s hit over the last 1.5 weeks. I think Gunner will throw for 3250 if we play 15 games. It’s slightly over 215 yards per. It’s not sexy stats but that’s 6000+ yards of total offense with a defense that will be the best in the country. Gauge Gunner on his improvement with explosives in PA, and if his yards per pass improves. His accuracy is inflated because of the LOS throws, so that won’t be a good marker for improvement. No Heisman invite, but he will be the most efficient QB in the country. 30+ passing TDs this year, INTs will remain the same.

I’m critical of staff when we don’t see marked change (insanity). Many wanted staff changes and we got at least one. At least we’re seeing something different in process. Maybe fresher legs later in the season will pay dividends. It doesn’t address game plans late in the season, but it’s something different. I’m cautiously optimistic about all of that too.

Thank you for your work. I have no expectations. Biggest thing I’ve learned is that I should probably peek at a roster. I don’t recall many of those names.
