Get used to expensive auto insurance if you live in Georgia. Georgia is the #1 worst state for lawsuits in the country now. Look at the number of billboards advertising lawyers if you don't believe me.
If there is no tort reform passed in Georgia soon, look for lots of companies to start leaving the state or to stop writing auto insurance. The average household in Georgia is paying about $4100 a year due to increased insurance costs in the state and that number is going up. Trial Lawyers Assoc spent $5 million last year lobbying the state legislature, Independent Insurance Agents spent $165,000. Who do you think is winning?
It is about to get really bad.

I have heard the same, I know some local guys in the business..still crazy that my MDX costs more than a BMW Z4 and a Silverado truck, combined…was that with all of the companies I priced in Jan…Progressive won this time, by a good bit. I think Liberty Mutual for sure wants out of Georgia.

Be careful with Progressive. Most people don't realize they are a non standard auto insurance company, always have been. They are tough as nails with claims. If they can legally find a way out they will.
An old agent told me many years ago "the lowest price isn't always the best deal with insurance".
