I can't remember the song, but I remember Sturgill being mad that he told Isbell a story and the next thing he knew it was a song.  I think Ryan Adams has a similar story about Isbell.  I just remember Sturgill being quoted something along the lines of "be careful what you say to that guy.  It will end up in a song."

I haven't followed along in a bit.  I used to really like Jason Isbell, but when he realized people would listen to him talk about politics, he really went off the deep end with his interviews, social media, and music.  I got sick of it.  I don't know why it became "cool" to identify your politics constantly, but I get sick of it.

Both of them were in the movie "Killers of the Flower Moon"  as was post Alt Artist Pete Yorn.  Jack White did the musical score
