Team A is up 1 point with time about to expire. Team B fails to score, time runs out. Game over. In the following celebration a player from team A runs to the other end of the court and hangs on the rim. Refs call Technical and awards team B 2 free throws. HUH?

I’ve never seen that either.

What inspired him to go hang on the rim?

Pretty dumb move regardless if the call was legit.

If time has truly run out, then the game is fully over. No foul of any kind can be called, unless there is some cryptic rule somewhere that I have never before heard of. That absolutely makes no sense, even if such a rule is written. If the game is over, the game is over... or maybe that's just me.  Huh

"Hurt Feelings on the Other Team" technical foul? It is a HS game, maybe there are rules in HS Bball that prohibit that.

One time several years ago Rockmart's basketball team (which we've truly never been all that good in basketball... not on a consistent basis, at least) went into the playoffs... either a #3 or #4 seed. The team played at one of the City of Atlanta schools, I forget which. The City of Atlanta team won the game, and as the time ran off the clock the bleachers from the City of Atlanta team virtually emptied and fans poured across the gym floor over and into the front of the Rockmart bleachers, flipping birds and all sorts of "kind words" being said to the Rockmart fans. Apparently, that is a "thing" in some schools.
