Saw him many times at the old Launching Pad in my youth. My childhood heroes have been dropping like flies the past month.

Yep. A lot of HOFers made their way through the Launching Pad in the late 60's and early 70's. Mays, Clemente, McCovey, Bench. Robinson, Banks, Rose, Bench, Seaver, Gibson, Brock, Stargell et al. I sure wish they would have had inter-league play back then. It would have been great to see the AL greats of those days play. 

When Willie came through he was in twilight of his career, but he always sent a charge through the place when he came to the plate. You could sure tell he loved the game.
