I haven't heard of issues with FedEx delivery. But something odd is going on.

We ordered something online, and it turns out it is being delivered by way of FedEx. We were given a tracking number, and in using that we saw that the package status was "On FedEx vehicle for delivery" early on Tuesday morning and they gave an estimated time by which it should be delivered. The package did not arrive on Tuesday. The next day the website showed it again on the truck for delivery on Wednesday. Knowing that it was a holiday, I figured that may or may not be correct and just assumed it wasn't coming, and it did not arrive. Same thing yesterday/Thursday. Very early that morning it was on the truck for delivery, but then late in the afternoon (almost 6:00 pm) the status changed to "Operational Delay - No attempt made, delivery scheduled for the next business day".

??

Sump'n wrong, here. Three days in a row it was supposedly on the truck for delivery but has yet to be delivered. I know there has been a lot in the news about USPS delays. I haven't heard of anything going on with FedEx, though.

There was a time there was an issue with the Ellenwood transfer station. Like your’s, packages weren’t being delivered as promised. Also, do they use USPS to deliver some packages? I think UPS does…or maybe I’m thinking amazon. Regardless, I’d call the place you purchased from and complain.

Call the Fedex customer service number and tell them to put a trace on the package. That's an unusual situation.

Yes... I have seen USPS deliver packages for other carriers in the past. In this particular case, it was supposedly FedEx. Who knows, though, these days.

Interestingly, the package arrived this morning.

Yes, I agree. I can't say I have ever seen a package situation like this one before. I didn't add that in my original post, as it was getting a bit wordy already, but I actually did call them (FedEx) last night. On that note, I surprisingly got to a person immediately... literally no sitting on hold and waiting. I didn't complain, per se. I told the girl (foreign girl ... not sure where located) that it wasn't urgent, but seeing all that I saw in the tracking details, my concern was that the package may actually be lost or sitting somewhere and not actually on a truck. She did exactly what you said. She put a trace on it. The package arrived this morning, just minutes ago, interestingly.

Fed Ex has been wonky for a while, I’d put them on finding it..they usually do.

Edit, just saw your post..

The last 2 Fed Ex Ground deliveries I've had were 2 to 4 days later than the original delivery date.

Checking the package that was 4 days late coming from Texas, when it went to Nashville it evidently got put on the wrong truck, because it went to Louisville, back to Nashville, then to Chattanooga and I received the next day after it arrived in Chattanooga.

This package was in Austell just after 4:00 am on Tuesday morning, and was quickly on a delivery truck, per the tracking details. The status for the day showed it being delivered, with a time to be delivered by. It just didn't get delivered. It did that three days in a row, although yesterday late-afternoon the status did show that there had been no delivery attempt... which they did not do that the previous two days.

Odd situation, for sure. It did get delivered this morning... had to be within 15-30 minutes of when I posted the first message. This was after them placing a trace on the package last night. I didn't get to see who it was who delivered it. My wife said she only ever saw a car in the cul-de-sac, and did not hear a delivery truck. They'll drop packages on the front porch lots of times and we're right inside the door and never hear them.

I have gotten to where if something I have ordered is going to be shipped by Fed Ex, I won't buy it. They have never delivered when they said they would. One time we needed a new credit card as we were leaving the country, and Fed Ex said we delivered it. Nope. They had left a NEW CREDIT CARD at the road. ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
