Read something interesting re: Carollton QB Julian Lewis.
#1
Taken from yesterday's Georgia High School Football Daily email:

Carrollton quarterback Julian Lewis announced Jan. 16 that he was reclassifying and graduating early, meaning this will be his final high school season. No Georgia player since Trevor Lawrence entered his freshman year more celebrated, and Lewis has delivered, throwing for 7,212 yards and 96 touchdowns and winning 25 of his 28 starts while building the most lucrative NIL profile of any Georgia high school athlete. Lewis is committed to Southern Cal. Reclassifying is rare in Georgia but not unprecedented. In 2022, another five-star Georgia recruit, Milton defensive tackle L.T. Overton, reclassified to sign early with Texas A&M, but unlike Lewis’s decision, it came after playing his final season.

So, this would have been Lewis' junior season at Carrollton... and, I guess it still is. He'll not be back for his senior year, which is more so of greatest interest to head coach Joey King and the rest of the team.

Lewis has visited UGA multiple times. He seems (thus far, anyway) to be sticking to his commitment to Southern Cal.

Carrollton has a freshman that may make everybody forget JuJu. Carrollton is loaded this year and may take it all! They should score 50 a game. Not too bad for one of the smallest schools in 6A!! Rumor has it that AU is a done deal. I'd have to PM you with all the juicy gossip!!!

I would bet that his final landing place is not yet finalized. AU would be a natural fit for him, solely due to close proximity. Tank Bigsby did the same thing, coming from just south of Carrollton, at Callaway H.S., down near Franklin.

Interesting info regarding the freshman QB. Having Joey King as head coach is always one step ahead of the game. I'm sure he has Carrollton locked and loaded.

I'm looking forward to see how Rockmart does this year. We lost in triple overtime in last year's Class AA state championship. A LOT of key players graduated. But a lot returned, as well, especially on both lines of scrimmage. We have a senior QB who transferred from Darlington, who is more so a pro style QB but is said to be one of the better pro style QB's in this year's lot within the state. Next year, our head coach's son will be a freshman. He QB'ed last year's middle school team (as a 7th grader), who won the local area championship, defeating Central of Carrollton down at West Georgia University. He's already 6' tall, and maybe more, and is only an 8th grader. His dad is a good 6'4", if not more, and played QB in college. I'm guessing his son will be next year's starting QB, also as a freshman.

I'm curious to see how this new QB looks in tonight's scrimmage with Bremen. Gonna be interesting.

I knew sarge would come in with the heat! Preesh, sarge. PM away. I don’t mind if the drama goes to the ugliest village on the plane.
