There is still some real science being done. I hope that works for the person.

Hope it is a positive for that man and many more in the future.

My paternal grandmother was one of the earliest heart bypass patients back in early 1965. She died the 3rd day in the hospital she was flown to in Texas from Rossville.

The hospital sent Grandad a condolence letter a few weeks later saying she did not die in vain. That what doctors learned while trying to save her would save thousands in the future, giving them many years added to their lives.

That has come true. While still a major surgery, bypass surgery have become an often used treatment and has given hundreds of thousands more years of productive life.
