in west Virginia. I couldn't believe how old most of these people looked. My wife looks 10 years younger than most of these people. Highlight of the weekend was some former classmate of my wife that keeps up with her on facebook was talking to us and told my wife that she was the luckiest woman in the world for having a husband like me who did everything he could to make her happy. She will not ever live that one down. I will bring it up every time we have an argument from now on. Big Grin

3 people I go to church with, 1 in my class and 2 a couple of years younger, and they all look like they could 10 years older. Smoking and diabetes will age a person faster.

I've noticed that, as well. Once a person starts hitting their 40s, especially 50s, and for sure 60s, lifestyle starts becoming more and more clearly visible... especially smoking. Diet will manifest itself in diabetes and loads of other health issues. That is yet another big issue in our part of the world.

That said... I still probably look older to other people than I think I look. Angel

drinking doesn't do your body any favors either.  I've never been an intimidating specimen at the gym by any means, but my wife and I had the strategy very young to make healthy living a habit.  I've had a few stretches along the way where I wasn't getting much exercise or eating right, and I'm by no means a teatotaler.  I do probably look older than I am due to my rapidly graying hair, but I attribute that to having two teenage daughters.  Sometimes going to a high school reunion can be a wake up call.  Someone said at our 30th reunion (I wasn't there, heard about it afterwords) that there was a visual age range of about 25 years.  Some folks were already having trouble with stairs.

I'm not a health nut and not a teetotaler but I am aware of leading at least something of a healthy lifestyle. I know, or knew, too many people who drink a lot and are not active at all. They all look at least 10 years older than they really are.

Funny story that is supposedly true...
Lady needed a dentist and when she was looking she saw a guy local that she went to high school with and decided to set up an appt.
When she got there she was surprised to see the guy was bald and very old looking. She mentioned to him that she thought they went to the same high school.
He said "oh ya? what did you teach?" LOLOL. bam. Reality ...

I still get asked for ID several times a year when asking for the senior discount.  Big Grin
