University of Georgia head softball coach Tony Baldwin has announced the hiring of Mike Davenport as an assistant coach. A 10-time Peach Belt Conference Coach of the Year, Davenport built a culture of championships at North Georgia, winning 17 conference regular season titles, 15 conference tournaments, nine NCAA Southeast Region Championships, and two NCAA DII National Championships. He has established UNG as a powerhouse in NCAA Division II softball, taking North Georgia to three consecutive Division II Championship appearances twice from 2009-11 and again in 2021-23. The DuQuoin, Illinois native is a 1994 graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and a 1998 grad of North Georgia, where he earned his Master of Education.

Nine home games and a pair of Holiday tournaments highlight the Georgia women's basketball program's 2024-25 non-conference schedule. The upcoming season tips off on Monday, Nov. 4 against North Carolina Central. The Lady Bulldogs host Houston (Nov. 8), Furman (Nov. 10) and Georgia State (Nov. 14) to round out the early season home stand. Georgia's lone true road contest during the non-conference slate comes at Georgia Tech on Sunday, Nov. 17. The Lady Bulldogs venture away from Athens on Nov. 21 and 23 for the inaugural WBCA Showcase and to San Diego, Calif., on Dec. 20 and 21 for the San Diego Tournament. The Lady Bulldogs host four-straight games from Nov. 26-Dec. 16, before closing out the non-conference slate on Dec. 28 against Ohio.

Following a season-opening shutout against No. 7 Pitt, junior goalkeeper Jordan Brown was named Southeastern Conference Co-Defensive Soccer Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. Brown helped No. 14 Georgia secure a draw with the Panthers with five saves against 18 shots with five on frame, earning the 12th shutout of her Bulldog career.
