In the beginning, the internet was supposed to be the great bastion of free thought and free speech.  Everyone was going to be able to have a voice and a platform to speak their mind on any issue they wanted to.

That lasted maybe 2 years before the internet went full "1984".  Now, it's a place where everyone gets offended and demands that everyone else be banned.

Not exactly.  The server space and ad dollars that help keep this place going, regulate to an extent what goes on HOTD and what needs to be in the Lounge.  As mods, we try to work the middle keeping as much as possible on HOTD while protecting The Todd's ad dollars.
