He wasn't worried about our O scoring. He thought he could flip the field with the punt and get more points.

that's what I thought. At first I thought, I can't believe he is punting, then I thought....he doesn't think our offense can do anything

Altogether his doubts were warranted. We looked stymied. Flummoxed. Stammygastered. Bewildered.
We did not shine anywhere but Special Teams. UK set the pattern for the game and we accepted it.
I completely expected a second half like ClemPson and couldn’t be more surprised to see more of the same. I can’t accept THAT is who we are though and hope I am right.

He stated in his post game interview he didn't hesitate to punt. His reasoning was if he failed to make that first down that the DAWGS, even if they didn't get a first down, would likely leave UK getting the ball back inside the 10 and having to drive the length of the field. Punting and getting a three and out would give them a shorter field to get in FG distance.

Not sure I agree with him, but that was his explanation.

Personally, I gave a big sigh of relief when he decided to punt, thinking 2 Dawg first downs would end the game.
Still ended up giving them the ball back with 10 seconds and time for 2 plays.
