Question for the Bobo Haters...
#21
I think a big point is being missed,
Kirby being a defensive mind, is a conservative coach.
Kirby is in on the entire game plan including the offense.
Conservative coaches like to run the ball and control the clock and play safe.

I am however sick of screens over and over and the runs into a stacked box. Got to throw the ball down the field.
Said the same thing last year against Bama.
Still could have been Kirby induced.

My impression is that for White-Hot Bobo haters the buck stops with the OC.

I agree with that sentiment, but I think they are wrong. We all know the buck stops at the HC. It took awhile for Saban to loosen the reins on that side of the ball. I don't think Kirby is there yet. For all the talk about missing Monken he had the same issues at times. Just look at the UK game up there under him and at Mizzou. There were others. It is a product of Kirby's defensive mindset. Kirby needs to once again be more like Saban in this regard.

If the OL keeps letting defenders run through them, and the QB doesn't make better reads, then it won't matter who the OC is

it really is an interesting question.  As others have said, I don't hate Bobo, but I damn sure hate his play calling most of the time.  He relies too much on the belief that guys are going to execute with 100% perfection on every play.  Problem is, that's predictable and other teams know it.

I don't recall at any point believing I knew what play Monken had drawn up.  To me that's the difference, it was way more entertaining.

For example, we struggled the last 2 times we have been to Lexington, and yet in those games I never had that sinking feeling of we are going to lose this game.  I had it last weekend.  I had no faith in Bobo figuring out at least 1 or 2 plays to get us into the endzone.  And he really didn't.  The one TD was a bit of sheer will.  And we dodged a couple of bullets an got lucky.

But as for HC, not sure I'd want anyone else in Athens.  Kirby, being an Alum, loves the Dawgs and the university.  That goes a long way for me as a fan.  I have no doubt that he absolutely wants to do what's best for the program, team, and school because he takes pride in it.  Not just pride in a "job well done".  Not here just to get a paycheck.  Anyone else coming in, it would simply be a "good opportunity" for them.  For Kirby, it's an opportunity to give back to his alma mater.  Which Ironically enough is why I think he will stick with Bobo too long.  He wants people around him that care for the university like he does, as he should, but if they ain't getting it done he will have to find someone else.

I think this is very close to exactly how I feel.    Great take here.

Believe it or not, this is how I feel too.  I don't want any other head coach but Kirby for the exact reasons viper says.

That wasn't part of Bobo's game plan?

That is VERY true. We could have 6 of the best NFL OC's ever and it will not matter. Beck has an extremely limited window, imo. He had about 4 bad reads and 2 rotten passes
in that game that cost us but part of that I pin on the OL.

UGA has lost 2 games in 3 years ( think that’s right) and some think the sky is falling..

If it was so easy to three peat, everyone would be doing it.  How often does someone have a legit shot at 3 out of 4?  Enjoy this ride boys..
Cool
