Local tv weather Forecasters saying the storm will be Cat 4 (130-156 mph winds) when it comes on shore near the big bend area of Florida.  Also, said it is likely to still be a Cat 1 (74-96 mph winds) into Middle Georgia.  Stay alert, store items that can become airborne, and be safe.

My widowed sister-in-law left Perry, FL day before yesterday to stay with friends near Lake Jackson. I hope she came far enough North.
All of Taylor County where Perry is located is under a mandatory evacuation with a statement from the Sherriff that if you are stupid enough to stay in spite of the order, no first responders will make any rescue attempt until storm has abated.

Yes, my oldest granddaughter attends FSU.  The school closed at 7 A.M. this morning and will not reopen until Sunday.  Thankfully, she is now safe at home.  A dear friend and former colleague of mine was from Perry, FL.  He passed a few years back and is buried there.  Great guy, despite being a Gator.
