Art Blank children’s hospital opens today.  They are moving 340 kids from egleston to the new hospital today.  It is taking 1,200 staff with another 1,000 volunteers and 10-12 hrs to make the move, along with state patrol on the route to limit traffic slowing the 65 ambulances responsible for transportation.  The hospital itself is visually impressive.  I hope to never have any need to darken the doorway, but I’m glad we have such facilities and individuals willing and able to give enough to build such an impressive, modern facility for our most vulnerable and needy children.  Good on you, Arthur!  I wish Catfish were alive to witness the facility.

Yeah, that's something special, truly special. Blank's done some great work in Atlanta, but nothing greater than this.

Art was the bank, but I think AFLAC gave a boatload too, among others.

Yes - corner of north druid hills and i85.  Art gave $200mil that we know of.  I have a hunch it was more than that. The pic below doesn’t do it justice.

I use to manage security guards in the old building at that spot. I thought it was ATT Training when I patrolled there, Colonel Moore.

Good on him and all the other benefactors that made it possible !!

CHOA is and has been a beacon of hope for some many babies and kids. A good friend of mine's daughter had childhood leukemia. They treated her and the family so well. i prayed for that kid and her care team all throughout her care. She was always a smart, funny kid. She still is !! She went through some dark days , but she beat it. She went to UGA and on to nursing school and works there now as a RN. I admire that kid so much, for what she does and what she has been through.

It is known as AMB, as Children’s Hospital was known as CHOA. Art wanted the daily recognition

What happened to the left hand not knowing what the right hand does when giving to others?
