As Group self appointed historian and expert I'd like to study this series, "The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry"

Georgia won 9 in a row from 1923 to 1931. That's our longest win streak. None of us remember, or care, but there it is written in time and our goal for now.

Georgia was undefeated for another 9 in a row from 1944 to 1952, but that includes a tie in 1949. There was 5 in a row involved as per actual winning streaks.

Auburn's longest win streak was 6 in 1953 to 1958. They kinda dominated us from 53 to 65 going 11 and 2.

Man, we sucked when Herschel left in 82 until CMR got there going 5-13, cheering a memorable tie that knock Auburn out of everything in 94. Other than the 3 Herschel years and the Hose game we lost all the 80's games.

Dooley went 11-1-13. Held serve at 10-1-8 until Dye got his number at the end. Goff and Donnan went 4-7-1.

You know, they had the lead in this series in 2005 at 53-48. That was a bitter loss 31-30 with DJ Shockley as QB, won the SEC lost the Sugar Bowl.

Anyway, we flipped the switch after that, going 16-3 since. Going strictly since CMR got here, we are 18 and 6.

Now Now Now that's where it's at.

We were 55-55-8 when CKS got here. CKS is 8-1 avenging that one loss at the SEC Championship, going for 9-1. Ironically we are 1-9 against the pachyderms, but that is another post and last week.

Now we stand, 8 games up in the all time series. Going for 8 in a row. Favored by 24. Still #5 in the nation. Pressure is a Privilege. Get After Their Ass. Don't say shit, just point to the scoreboard.

So, let's eat pork and play like we are down 28-0 against Alabama from the start this week, as we finally start our real home season. We still got one streak going, consecutive home wins.

Cool

Vegas has more confidence in a blow out victory than I do. I expect a close hard fought game.

The UGA team has a lot to prove after last week. I think they win but, I highly doubt they cover.
