The University of Georgia volleyball team fell to the Alabama Crimson Tide in five sets on Sunday at Foster Auditorium. Season Record: 6-7, 0-3 SEC. The Bulldogs return to Stegeman Coliseum for a three-match homestand beginning next weekend when Georgia hosts South Carolina on Friday, Oct. 11 for 10K Day. Georgia will look to break the Georgia state attendance record for an NCAA volleyball match that evening. The first 2,000 fans will take home a 10K Day t-shirt. The first 2,000 UGA students will get a replica jersey and all students in attendance will have the opportunity to win prizes throughout the match including an all-expenses-paid trip to the Georgia-Florida football game courtesy of the Georgia Lottery.

The Georgia women's golf team is set to compete in the Chicago area for the second time in as many weeks as it prepares for the Illini Invitational. The two-day tournament, hosted by the University of Illinois, is the fourth of five competitions in which the Bulldogs are set to compete during the fall slate. Ranked teams competing in the Illini Invitational include No. 5 UCLA, No. 6 Auburn, No. 19 Ole Miss, and No. 23 Pepperdine while Alabama, UCF, Georgia, Houston, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana Monroe, Maryland, North Texas, Texas Tech, and Tulsa round out the field. Georgia last competed in the Chicago suburbs last week when they participated in the Northwestern-hosted Windy City Classic in Wilmette, Ill. The Bulldogs finished 13th at 56-over in the elite event which featured four top-10 teams and 10 top-20 teams.

Georgia Softball beat Georgia Gwinnett College 8-0 last Friday at Turner Softball Stadium Athens, Ga.
