I think he said in his presser yesterday that he spoke to both the coach and Van Buren and neither really took exception to it. It certainly looked bad, but in the court of public opinion, he could have tripped and fallen on the kid and they would be coming after him.

Sankey is probably right.  It should have resulted in a penalty, but I also understand Smart's position.  The dude has a one tracked mind, so if he thinks he can get something done, he's not going to let someone stand in his way of doing it.
