He started up the KSU program from scratch and he has done extremely well. Granted, they have hit hard times this year. But this is also their first year playing FBS. It is going to take some time to recruit and play at that level.

But, he is making it clear that he did NOT step down.

Why do programs want to step up to FBS so badly? Is the money that much better? I would think the expenses would skyrocket.

I'm wondering if it is for future endeavors? KSU has a TINY college football stadium at the present time... extremely tiny for a true D1/FBS team, and especially one in a state like Georgia. Maybe they anticipate money flowing in and they'll either outright build a brand new one (my guess) or enlarge the existing one. I tend to think they'll build a new one, as they'll need a LOT of parking.
