I looked up some details on this dumb SEC championship setup.

If there's an 8 way tie (assuming the season plays out by favorites - including UGA beating TN this weekend), it goes to head to head, then common opponents, then record against highest placed opponents, then combined winning percentage against conference opponents. Head to head is worthless because all of the teams beat each other. Common opponents is worthless too because the "common opponent(s)" has to have played all of the tied teams and no such opponent exists. In the third category, Texas is 1-1 against Georgia and aTm, so that doesn't really help. If we're forced to go to the 4th tiebreak, and we look at who is favored the rest of the year, LSU ends up at .614 and Bama .625. Everyone else is below that (Georgia will be .572).

Shitty.

Just go back to the old days and folks with the same record share the title.

More evidence that conference expansion is a bad idea.

Even if UGA wins out, I don't think they get in. Does Bama play Ole Miss? If not and they both win out, they would get in before UGA. Assuming Texas wins out. I can see 3 SEC teams, maybe 4. But, it's not looking very good for UGA.

Even if we win out, if we get in it will be the committee throwing Kirby a bone.  We really don't deserve to be in the playoff this year.  We will have played three good teams and lost to two of them.  Both losses were pretty ugly too.  I know we came back at Bama but we looked totally lost for the first half of that game.  Ole Miss slapped us around and took our lunch money.

I'll be surprised if we beat UT Saturday unless their qb doesn't play.  The nerds are going to give us all we want.  Bobo has come in and in two short seasons made the tech game exciting again.
