Etienne is likely returning next year and he’s got a concussion.

Just got a PM that Jake Rowe posted Etienne is out for the regular season.
If we get into the big dance, he’ll be back. UGA is still going after a RB in portal as well. Anticipate this being a bell cow back, but also as a play maker.

We will see Chauncey Bowens tomorrow.

Another note I’ll slide in here, if this case on Colbie Young drops soon (which there is some buzz it could) he will be allowed to return. Has been cleared by powers at be.

Bobo will be back. Confirmed again this morning. Being told to recruits/commits also.

Well, on the Bobo news, the championship drought continues for at least another year.

maybe the gout will kick in BUT with the new rule of unlimited coaches we might bring in a QB coach, Running game coordinator or other offensive specialty coaches

Maybe Kirby can bring in a play calling coach too.  If Kirby wants to keep paying his buddy Bobo he could let him have a job like Kamala in the Biden admin.  Bobo could have the title of OC but really do nothing at all.  At least he wouldn't be actively destroying our chances of winning a championship.

He should offer the OC job to Buster, he has done a great job at tech.  I'm afraid Bobo is going to be to Kirby as Martinez was to Richt.

Hahahaha.    With all due respect to mine and Toasty’s guy, I’m hearing this will likely be the last hurrah for Bobo.     I know they’re telling recruits he’s gonna stay…but, what else would you tell them at this point.    He may move over to an advisory role like Muschamp.     We will see.

I hope your guy is right.  I would seriously give Buster a call immediately after the last game of the season.

Maybe they can put Bobo in an office with something like "Chief Executive Offensive Analyst" on the door and let him watch tape all day and write up a weekly report that he gives to the new OC who thanks him and promptly throws it in the trash.  Kirby can look at paying Bobo the same as someone giving their retarded relative a made up job so they can feel better.

would it help if I said my dog died this week?  Because we had to put her down due to a stroke.  She gave me 14 great years.  My wife got 10 years.  I wouldn't have gotten my lovely wife without that good dog.

2024 or 2025 would be Bobo's last hurrah?

I think errybody is likely giving Buster too much credik. He might be the best thing since sliced bread, but GT has played nothing resembling Georgia's schedule.

Because they associate Buster with Gawd Monken. Pretty silly IMO. Dawgs can do better than a guy with 2 years experience as an OC.

I never understood the Bobo hire other than they were friends. And now, there are other coaching concerns/question marks. I have asked this question before. UGA still has a large amount of 4 and 5 star players on the roster. It has to be coaching, right? Not everywhere but, more than just a position or 2.

RB room is decimated by injuries.  CJ32 is tough and a great story but he isn't a legit SEC RB, Frazier is going to be good but he can't hold on to the ball right now.  Bell has good speed but he really isn't a true RB.
WR is a position we haven't recruited very well, I don't know who to blame for that.  The ones we have are pitiful at getting separation and when they do, they drop the ball if it is thrown to them.
OL is a product of Searles poor coaching and poor recruiting.
DBs are supposed to be very talented but they look like they have never played the position before outside of Starks.  This has to be coaching.
QB...well, Beck is average at best and I think he is messed up in the head now on top of not caring because he got the NIL money and he is living the high life.
DL and LB have played well but aren't dominant like they were in '21 and '22.

I hate to say it but I think Kirby got complacent and started believing all the glowing press the team was getting.  He hired his buddy Bobo as OC when everyone who had seen his past performances knew he was terrible.  I don't know if he and Searles are friends or if Searles was an easy hire but Searles has never been good either.  I'm sure NIL and the portal have changed coaching in college but it sure looks like Kirby has been sort of different this season and he doesn't seem to have the fire he had before.  Having to deal with a bunch of kids who have enough money to not care and nothing to tie them to the program has to be terrible to deal with.  I wouldn't be too surprised if he decided he had had enough sooner rather than later.
