I do not understand…

Rushing the field after any win.  Vandy deserved it.  Auburn?  Oklahoma?  Etc. Etc.  It is really pathetic and emblematic of the suckiness of these fan bases that they’ll greatly celebrate a win against a pedestrian program.  I hope the penalty is dialed up to millions.  It’s the only way it will stop.  That or someone getting trampled to death.

It’s not like these kids rushing the field are going to pay it. They need to take away scholarships.

The problem is it’s an SEC rule, not an NCAA rule.

I think it’s a dumb idea to rush the field, but also think a shrewd lawyer could sue the SEC and get the rule overturned and compensation to the teams who had to pay the fine.

I don’t understand what people don’t understand about them “rushing the field”.
I totally agree that I think the examples you gave are not really worth it. I think it’s just kinda stupid and actually dangerous. But it’s called exuberance, and it’s more of a spontaneous act by usually immature kids who don’t have many limits in their daily lives.

Geesh!! I sound like Dr Phil!!

Well, it was highly unusual for a program as good as Georgia to lose to a team, any team, 9 times in a row.  So the passion overflowed that night, Poor hedges. I rushed the field twice at Auburn. Once, when the Sugar was Falling from the Sky, and once when the Water Hoses were turned on us. I may have rushed the field in the Gator Bowl when we beat Florida and they had rushed the field the year before. I may have been wrestled to ground by a black state trooper at LSU too when we beat #6 LSU and I was hugging on him.

Well, I agree. It's dumb. I'm kind of glad Ole Miss did it against us if it cemented the team being pissed off about getting their azz beat
